Kaimi Japanese (“Kaimi”, “we”) runs the Dee Why restaurant and this website. We keep your information private and use it only to serve you. We do not sell it and we do not give it to anyone for advertising.

What we collect

  • When you order: your name, mobile number, the items you order and any notes. For delivery, your address.
  • If you create an account: your name, email, mobile number, a password (stored only in scrambled form, we cannot read it), your default address and usual note, your order history and your points.
  • Payments: you pay on Square’s secure page. We never see or store your card number.
  • Location: only if you tap “Use my current location”, and only to fill in your delivery address.

How we use it

  • To make and hand over your order, and to contact you about it if needed.
  • To work out delivery distance and fee.
  • To run your account: points, rewards, your past orders and saved details.
  • To send you the odd offer by email, only if you ticked that box. You can say stop at any time.

Who helps us run this

We use a few service providers to operate the website: Square (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Google (address suggestions and distance). They handle your information only to provide their service to us. Some of them store data outside Australia.

How long we keep it

Names, phone numbers and delivery addresses on past orders are removed from our system after 90 days. Account details are kept while your account is open. Records we must keep for tax purposes are kept as the law requires.

Your choices

You can see and change your details under your account. You can ask us to correct or delete your account and information at any time by telling the team at the Dee Why store, or through the contact details on this website, and we will do it.

Security

Passwords are stored in scrambled form, connections are encrypted, and only our staff can see orders. No system is perfect, so please choose a password you do not use elsewhere.
